  • Google is reportedly working on an AI project that lets users talk to chatbots modeled after celebrities, YouTube influencers, and other personalities. The feature will allow anyone to create chatbots by describing their personality and appearance and then converse with them.

  • OpenAI pushed back the initial launch of its latest voice assistant by a month over safety issues. Meanwhile, it made the ChatGPT app for MacOS available to all users. 

  • Yelp is rolling out new tools to help users find businesses that meet mobility, hearing, and vision accessibility needs. The platform is also adding AI-generated alt text to its photos.

  • A new biotech AI startup from former Meta researchers is releasing a tool to help scientists craft new molecules in a process they say mirrors half a billion years of evolution.

  • Add Meta to the list of companies (including Google, Anthropic and Perplexity) that Apple is reportedly in talks with about bringing their AI to the iPhone. Apple already announced a deal with OpenAI. 

  • Amazon is reportedly considering charging between $5-$10 for a monthly subscription to its Alexa genAI features.

  • OpenAI acquired an enterprise search and analytics startup, its first purchase and integration of another company. 

  • HeyGen, a startup that helps users create their own personal deepfakes, has raised $60M in Series A funding, led by Benchmark.

  • Notion has launched Notion Sites, a tool that turns Notion pages into publicly-facing websites. It has features like custom favicons, the ability to build navigation bars with links, and breadcrumb navigation. Notion Sites can be easily published under custom domains.

  • Snapchat is adding new teen safety features, including warnings on messages from unknown contacts, users blocked or reported by others, or people from outside the region where the teen’s contacts are located.

  • Waymo’s self-driving cars are available to everyone in San Francisco. Anyone with the Waymo app can hail the Alphabet-owned taxis, no waitlisting required.
